Three Rivers Roleo attracts top log rollers

One of log rolling’s major events is coming back to Onalaska this weekend.

The Three Rivers Roleo is preparing to host some of the nation’s best.

This is the 11th annual event.

It first began as a local log rolling competition in 2008.

But now it’s one of the major stops nationally for competitive log rollers.

27 pros will compete this weekend, including several from the La Crosse area.

"It’s a very deep field with 27 competitors with 15 professional men and 12 women.  We have all the top rollers from the beginning of the season and from the previous year, with the exception of one who’s out with pregnancy.  It is free to the public, so there will be some fantastic action," said tournament director Katie Rick.
"I love this competition, not only because I train here.  So it’s kind of like my home turf.  But it’s just a great venue with the river and the weather is always pretty nice and it attracts a lot of great competitors," said Emily Christopherson, who will compete this weekend.

The action starts for the pros on Saturday at 11 in the morning at the Great River Landing in Onalaska.

The tournament concludes on Sunday.
