A road rage incident Friday morning involving a handgun ended with the driver’s arrest.
The incident took place around 10:40 a.m. when Jackson County received a 911 call from a motorist on I-94 reporting road rage with a driver pointing a gun at them. The caller was traveling West on I-94 near mile marker 105 in the Town of Hixton.
Jackson County deputies responded along with troopers from the Wisconsin State Patrol. The caller met with Deputies and provided a vehicle description as well as video captured with their cellphone. Troopers with the Wisconsin State Patrol located and stopped the suspect’s vehicle near mile marker 70 in Eau Claire County.
A handgun was recovered from the vehicle and the driver admitted to showing a handgun during the incident.
The driver was identified as James V. Hentz, 43, from Chesapeake, VA.
He was arrested and transported to the Jackson County Jail.
