“Grease” flash mob takes over cruise night

You’d be hard pressed to find a more perfect setting for La Crosse Schools to preview their summer musical "Grease" than classic car night at Rudy’s Drive-In. The cast checked out some local takes on "Greased Lightning" while giving the crowds a sample of some of the songs from the show.

53 actors and 13 technical crew members make up the summer student production set to take the stage this weekend at Logan Middle School. It’s a district-wide collaborative effort with the goal of giving all those involved a creative outlet for the summer, and maybe try something new.

"It’s a little stressful," said Greta Speckeen who plays Cha Cha DiGregorio in the show "Because being new and not knowing anyone it’s a little stressful, but afterward once I got to know people it’s been a lot of fun, and I really enjoy it."

Grease hits the stage for four performances this weekend. Friday and Saturday night at 7 with 2 p.m. matinees on Saturday and Sunday. All performances are at the Logan Middle School auditorium on Avon Street.
