Dow has Spartans on the upswing

Sparta will feature a new look in many ways when they take the field for the 2018 season this year.

The biggest change is a new head coach.

Adam Dow replaces John Blaha.

He’s has been the offensive coordinator for the Spartans for the last two seasons.

Dow inherits 19 seniors and a strong junior class

Dow’s a former UW-La Crosse offensive lineman and brings a jolt of energy to the team.

The players have already caught on and they hope they can surprise some teams in the MVC.

“Dow brings whole new level of creativity.  He’s great.  He brings creativity and he let’s us interact and do what’s best for the team.  He brings another level of competitiveness, especially from his college days.  He knows how good coaching is done,” said quarterback Cole Wisniewski.
“Coach Blaha set a good framework for our program.  We’ve taken some positive steps over the past couple of years.  I really think that utilizing the skill sets of the players, making sure our athletes can get out in space and just being able to mold our offense and defense around the kids we have, I think that brings the flexibility we haven’t had in the past,” said Dow.

Sparta went 4-6 overall last season.

They open the season at Black River Falls.
