Wisconsin State Senator and US Senate hopeful Leah Vukmir utilized the La Crosse Republican Field Office on Saturday.
Currently serving Wisconsin’s Fifth Senate District, Vukmir hopes to challenge Democratic US Senator Tammy Baldwin in the November election.
Before she officially becomes the Republican candidate, she must first defeat Republican Kevin Nicholson in the August primary on Tuesday, August 14.
Saturday she reminds people to vote, and speaks to the importance of local political offices.
"My humble beginnings began as a mom who questioned the role of government in my family’s life," Vukmir discloses.
Inspired by her family, local political offices made an impact on her political career.
"I found myself walking into my local GOP headquarters where I picked up a clipboard, I picked up a phone, picked up a bag of literature and went door to door. So this is how I began and I’ve never forgotten how important that work is," Vukmir adds.
After Vukmir finished in La Crosse she continued her tour through Wisconsin in Eau Claire.
