Jayme Closs Facebook fundraiser surpasses goal of $50k, moves to GoFundMe page

Barron County (WQOW) – A Facebook fundraiser started by Anna Cannard and Audra Bennion for Jayme Closs, has ended, surpassing a $50,000 goal, reaching $51,036. But organizers aren’t stopping there.

Cannard wrote, “We recommend those still wishing to donate contact Sterling Bank and reference the Closs Family Benefit Fund.” Cannard also linked a GoFundMe page.

They say the fundraiser was set up with permission from the family and will be turned over to Jayme’s legal guardian at the end of the fundraiser.

During a press conference on Friday, Sheriff Fitzgerald said their is no long-term placement set up for Jayme yet. He said they are working with human services to set up a permanent placement.
