Scott Walker gets in Twitter feud with Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez

MADISON (WKOW) — Former governor Scott Walker and freshman Congresswomen Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez feuded over Twitter about tax hikes on the rich.

On Tuesday,  Walker tweeted about explaining tax rates to 5th graders. “‘Imagine if you did chores for your grandma and she gave you $10. When you got home, your parents took $7 from you.’ The students said: ‘That’s not fair!’  ‘Even 5th graders get it.’” Walker wrote.

This comes after Ocasio-Cortez expressed interest in a 70 percent marginal tax rate on an individuals income over $10 million during an interview with “60 Minutes.”

Rep. Ocasio-Cortez replied, mocking his reference: “Explaining marginal taxes to a far-right former Governor.”

A few hours later, Walker sent out a handful of tweets in respond to Ocasio-Cortez including one he called a “reality check.

Others followed with a quote from former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, “The trouble with Socialism is that eventually you run out of other people’s money.”

Since Walker’s been out of the governor office he’s extremely vocal on Twitter. He said last week he plans to play a role in President Donald Trumps 2020 re-election bid while living in Wisconsin.
