Winter Tea is through the wardrobe at Franciscan Spirituality Center

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) — Supporters of the Franciscan Spirituality Center spent the afternoon escaping the cold through the wardrobe in Narnia.

The organization held their 4th annual Winter Tea Garden–this year’s theme: lessons from Narnia. Homemade tea was sipped while guest speakers talked about C.S. Lewis’ series and its allegorical interpretation of the Christian faith.

“Many people who are here specifically want to support the spirituality center and help these scholarship funds continue to grow,” Franciscan Spirituality Center Director Audrey Lucier said.

“We use the funds a lot and give out many scholarships every year. I think they’re supportive of that and you know they’re here for enjoyment, but also because it’s a good cause.”

All proceeds go towards funding that allows people to attend programs and retreats the spirituality center has to offer. The center works hard to let anyone participate regardless of their financial background.
