La Crosse, Wis. (WXOW) – While work continues to be made on the new Veterans Memorial Pool, residents got a chance to see how it will look once it’s finished.
The event, held at the La Crosse Public Library, gave residents a chance to talk with city staff, the design team and volunteers who worked on the project. The design features of the modernized facility as well as the unique programming opportunities for this community pool were available for the public.
“When we saw these designs last fall, as committee members, we were ecstatic that this is ultimately what came forward,” Committee member Kraig Brownell said. “So we’re really excited that this is the pool being built right now.”
Also happening at the event, recognizing the Ho-Chunk Nation for their donation of $30,000.
The pool is scheduled to open at the beginning of June.
