La Crosse, Wis. (WXOW) – Habitat for Humanity La Crosse is now accepting applications for their homeownership program.
That program allows families a more affordable avenue to purchase a home.
“The difference that makes it affordable for our families is that Habitat offers those homes at zero percent interest,” Habitat La Crosse Executive Director Kahya Fox said. “So they pay full property taxes, full insurance, but that zero-percent mortgage is what makes those homes affordable for families who normally wouldn’t be able to buy a house.
Habitat is still looking for four families. To be considered, you need to submit an application by Friday, February 15 and meet housing need criteria.
Each family is required to put in 350 hours of what they call “sweat equity” – helping build their home.
More information as well as full application packets can be found at HabitatLaCrosse.org.
