LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) – Mayo Clinic Health System hosted an event Thursday afternoon to encourage their organization’s community engagement efforts.
The Love Your Community event allowed employees to meet community partners and learn more about their programs, missions and volunteer opportunities. It also allowed area programs to meet the public in a more private setting. Teri Wildt, Director of Community Engagement at Mayo said, “We’ve had many of our leaders in today participating with groups that they’re involved with and that sends a great message, that community engagement is important and it’s important for all of us.”
Some of the groups at the event were the Boys & Girls Club, Farm2School, Washburn Neighborhood Police, and the Salvation Army. There were fun, games and prizes available for employees that stopped by. Mayo Clinic Health System’s therapy dog, Luna, helped spread the love by posing for Valentine’s Day pictures as well.
This is their first year hosting the event but they hope to continue it in the future.
