Detroit round trip flight makes first landing in La Crosse

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) — The La Crosse Regional Airport now offers a round trip flight to and from Detroit, Michigan.

The first flight landed in La Crosse on March 2 and was celebrated with cake and drawing prizes for passengers. The plane then returned to Detroit at 4 p.m.

“This is a really important service that shows just how healthy and vital our airport is to the larger region and all of the work that went on behind the scenes to get this service,” La Crosse Mayor Tim Kabat said. “It’s great to finally realize that.”

Delta Airlines approved the flight after La Crosse airport staffers spent two years working with airline services to get it approved.
