LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) – SSE Music joins TerraCycle to help area musicians restring and recycle their old instrument strings.
SSE Music on George Street in La Crosse replaced and recycled used instrument strings for Earth Day, which is on April 22. The free event took place on Friday afternoon. The worn down cords were replaced with new D’Addario strings after the instrument was polished and inspected.
Tom Bielefeldt, string repairer at SSE Music, spent the afternoon helping customers and helping the environment. He said, “There’s a lot of strings in the world. We’re making baby steps, but we are a part of a nationwide effort to recycle all strings.”
SSE Music plans to continue recycling strings after Earth Day is over. You can visit the store to retire your old instrument cords in a responsible way.
