Project Character Dare 3: #Selflessness

(WXOW) – Time to wake up and train that character muscle. Project Character gives everyone a practical plan to build life’s “soft skills” with a goal of creating a stronger culture of leadership in the community.

This week puts the focus on selflessness.

“What have you done for someone else today? So think about that,” said Character Lives executive director Patrick Clements. “I start my dinner with my son every night with that question, ‘What did you do for someone else today.’ The thing is, it’s a habit now. The problem is now he asks me before I have a chance to ask him. But it’s like going to a gym. It’s creating a habit. You don’t start out with a fifty pound weight. You start out with a simple question, ‘What did you do for someone else today?'”

This week’s character dare is to send a thank you note. Share the challenge and your success with it on Instagram or Facebook using the hashtags #projectcharacter and #selflessness.

You can also get these dares sent directly to your phone each week by texting WEDAREYOU to 31996.
