Sciortino scores winning run off of an error to defeat UW-Stout 2-1

La Crosse, Wisc. (WXOW)- UW-La Crosse and UW-Stout met at North Campus Fields on Saturday afternoon. The Eagles with just five games left to play in conference play, including this double-header.

In game one, the Blue Devils got on the board first in the top of the first inning with an RBI triple from Kyncaide Diedrich. The Eagles tied up the game in the bottom of the 6th inning with an RBI double from Mia Schmidtke. The game remained tied heading into the bottom of the 7th inning. With bases loaded, Lou Sciortino scored the winning run off of an error to win the game 2-1.

On the mound for the Eagles, Caitlyn Hughes pitched a 7 inning game allowing just 5 hits, and one run. Hughes also had 10 strikeouts in the victory.
