LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) — Cashton and Bangor eighth graders got a head start on their potential future careers in a career challenge at Western Technical College.
They focused on teamwork and communication while learning about technical professions like fire protection, early childhood education and welding. The students welded name-tags and learned about programs offered.
“They help us with our buildings and our sewage systems and other things,” Bangor eighth-grader Garrett Brennan said. “Like what we eat because people need to build that to house the animals.”
The “challenge” aspect was a competition between groups as they designed and manufactured products from the tech field.
Facilitators said around 96 students took part.
