LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) Students at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse are helping senior citizens get another shot at love.
Tuesday, students held a speed dating event for people over the age of 65. Participants circled through tables in five-minute rotations, sharing stories and hopefully sparking a relationship with the person across the table.
Participants say this is a great way to get out and meet new people. “I like the idea of meeting people and it is hard to meet people when you don’t do bars and you are not real familiar with an area,” said senior speed dater Kathy Anderson. “People our age have busy lives with their families and their children and their jobs and its a good way to find other people who are also looking without going on a dating website.”
This is the second senior-speed dating event held at the UW-L this year.
