LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) – The changing dairy industry is a topic of discussion Monday in La Crosse.
Local business leaders, government officials and dairy industry officials gathered to talk about the current state of the agriculture industry. Wisconsin Secretary of the Department of Ag, Trade and Consumer Protection Brad Pfaff attended to hear from the panel of speakers including representatives from State Bank Financial, Brickl Bros., and Organic Valley.
Organic Valley Government Relations Manager Adam Warthesen said there is a change in consumer patterns and the industry must keep up. “Consumer consumption of dairy products have changed they’re now consuming a more full fat diet of dairy products. There’s also a broader range of types of drinks that people have accessible to them as oppose to milk which is more traditional.”
Representatives from local banks and construction companies were also speaking on the panel.
The forum was put on by the La Crosse Area Chamber of Commerce.
