A walk through the Riverside International Friendship Gardens

La Crosse, WI (WXOW)  It’s located on the north end of Riverside Park in La Crosse.

One of the many flower varieties in the Riverside International Friendship Gardens.

A little more than an acre of land containing gardens that tell a story about the value of similarity and difference.

You may know, the Gardens represent the seven sister cities with which La Crosse has relationships –  Epinal, France; Dubna, Russia; Luoyang, China; Friedberg, Germany; Bantry, Ireland; Forde, Norway and Kumbo, Cameroon.

The Gardens are possible through a public – private partnership among three primary groups.  The City of La Crosse provided the land and other resources.  A group called Bluff Country Master Gardeners who provide weekly maintenance and garden expertise.  And, the Riverside International Gardens Board of Directors who provide overall direction, fundraising and support to the Gardens.
