WEST SALEM, Wis. (WXOW) – Students at West Salem Elementary have created a virtual city of restaurants for a popular school project.
Each student is assigned a state to do research on and create a restaurant based on the unique qualities of that state. The are also required to create menus and a jingle along with their design.
Some student created seafood shacks from California and others designed skyscraper dinners from New York. Some of the students even built mini food trucks.
“The best thing about this project is that it lets them be creative and gives them a choice,” West Salem Elementary teacher Katie Fink said. “But still gets them math, gets them geography, gets them researching and gets them involved in so many different things and they really love doing it.”
The students are graded on creativity, design and the amount of research put into their projects.
