Jordy Nelson to retire as a Packer in August

Jordy Nelson says he’ll be making the trip to Green Bay during training camp this August to sign a 1-day contract and retire as a Packer.

In an on-air interview with WIBW-TV in Kansas, Nelson said, “We are headed back up there in August sometime. We haven’t pinpointed the date yet.”

“That’s the plan to go up there in August during training camp, sign the one-day deal, retire as a Green Bay Packer and move on from there.”

Nelson announced his retirement from football on March 27 after 11 seasons in the NFL (10 with Green Bay, 1 with Oakland).
