LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) – La Crosse County hosted a job fair for people with court-ordered child support bills so people could explore their options and see who’s hiring.
The county agency said they don’t want people with court ordered child support bills to go unemployed and unable to pay.
Local agencies like United Health Group, Fastenal and McDonalds were in attendance at the monthly job fair that took place at the La Crosse County Courthouse.
“It’s a great opportunity for those individuals that maybe haven’t had a job or that maybe have a rocky history with employment,” Coordinator Jill Sherry said. “It gives them the confidence and a little bit of that added initiative that they maybe didn’t know how to go about finding. And being able to talk with so many employers at one place, at one time and on one date.”
The county has been hosting these job fairs since January. The next one will take place Wednesday, August 14 from 2-4 p.m. at the courthouse.
