La Crosse, WI (WXOW) – Copeland Avenue will once again welcome the sights, sounds, smells and tastes of Mediterranean culture. St. Elias Orthodox church invites the community to the Mediterranean Festival on Sunday, July 14.
It’s an annual summer tradition dating back more than 40 years now at a church with a history stretching back much further. Richard Markos, an organizer of the festival, said it celebrates a unique heritage in the community and surrounding communities.
Funds raised from food and baked goods help keep the church thriving for members not only in La Crosse. Markos said some weekly attendees drive an hour just for the service on Sundays.
Mediterranean Fest runs from 12-5 on Sunday, July 14. For a full menu and schedule of entertainment, check out the St. Elias website.
