Sparta, Wis. – (WXOW) – Brighter Tomorrows in Sparta received a Venture grant through Great Rivers United Way, a big help to the Monroe County organization.
Members of Great Rivers presented Brighter Tomorrows with a check for $2,000. That money in turn, going to what is called the Survivor’s fund, for basic necessities for victims of domestic abuse.
“On average, we serve about 400 victims a year, and that includes their families,” said Project Director Jan Bruder.
Brighter Tomorrows turns that money into household items and toiletries as well as store vouchers and gas cards. Bruder says the organization’s mission is to help, and those basic items are part of the assistance.
