Holmen, Wisc. (WXOW)- Onalaska’s Ben Skogen entered the final day two shots back of Holmen’s Tyler Church. Holmen’s Cody Dirks also at the top just three strokes off the lead.
These three made up the final group on Sunday at Drugan’s Castle Mound. Skogen finished with a 70 on the final day marking a 140 overall, enough to claim his second straight County Am title.
“I have a game plan. I just stuck to my plan, and I just try not to think about other people’s game,” Skogen said.
“It’s really cool how the golf community comes together at this tournament. As you see on the 18th hole, everyone watches the final group. It is just really cool getting all the support, the congratulations and other things. It’s just really cool how our community comes together from a golf stand point. That’s what I really like about it.”
Church shot a 74 on day two, 142 overall to take second place. As for Dirks, he fell down the pack shooting a 87 on day two, 158 overall.
