Arrest made in Winona stabbing incident

WINONA, Minn. (WXOW) – A 19-year-old man is in a Rochester hospital recovering from stab wounds after an early morning incident in Winona.

Police and EMS went to a residence in the 400 block of West 9th Street in Winona around 1:24 a.m. after a 9-1-1 call. The person who made the call said the victim had been stabbed by an acquaintance inside the residence.

The victim, who was suffering from multiple stab wounds, first went to Winona Health, but was later transferred to St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester.

The suspect, who fled before police arrived, was later found at a residence several blocks away and arrested. A court appearance and charges are pending.
