West Salem, Wis. (WXOW) The move to the MVC has been a fruitful one for West Salem.
They’ve qualified for the playoffs all five years since joining the conference.
They will be challenged to continue that streak this season.
Head coach Justin Jehn returns an inexperienced squad.
One strength though is the offensive line, which is big and talented.
They’ll pave the way for a group of young guys who are eager to show they can make big contributions.
“We’ve got some speed at some younger player positions. We’re not afraid if we have to have some sophomores or juniors play in some crucial spots. That’s an OK thing. We had some kids play at the varsity level in other sports in this last school year. That experience, even in different sports, is something that gives them that poise in the game,” said Jehn.
“Especially the guys we haven’t seen, it’s really exciting because you see them in practice and it’s what’s it going to turn out to be on the field. I’m just really excited to see that,” said receiver/safety David Lattos.
West Salem hosts former Coulee Conference rival G-E-T in the season opener.
