Wild West Days royalty previews frontier-themed festival

Viroqua, WI (WXOW) – The Old West is new again in Viroqua. The annual Wild West Days returns to Vernon County Aug. 15-18, and this year’s royalty said they’re ready to roll in a fan favorite event.

Miss Wild West, Faith Gardner, said she and her court can’t wait to participate in the “Hog Wraslin'” event. When asked whether there’s any strategy, Gardner quipped, “run fast!”

The Wild West Days festival begins on Thursday, Aug. 15 at 925 Nelson Parkway in Viroqua. Admission is $4 for adults, $2 for kids 4-12 years old and free for those under 4. There’s also a $35 weekend pass for adults, which includes rodeo and grounds admission.
