HOLMEN, Wis. (WXOW) – Classic cars made room for contemporary vehicles at the 40th Annual Holmen Lions Club Kornfest Car Show.
This year, the show opened its categories up to car models from any year, with submissions dating from 1905 to 2019. Organizers said that nostalgia drives car lovers and their passion to events like this.
“A lot of it is what people drove when they were in high school,” Midwest Classic Club President Dave Wiggert said. “A lot of guys want to buy that car back again and restore it and re-live the memories.”
The Midwest Classic event raises money for local charities and other fundraisers like New Horizons, The Humane Society and funding for a new Vietnam memorial. Each nonprofit gets $500 from the show.
