Whitehall, Wis. – (WXOW) – A game that was supposed to be played in Arcadia had to be switched to the Whitehall football field. However, home field advantage didn’t help the Whitehall Norse.
The Arcadia Raiders started on offense and methodically worked their way down the field. They were 20 yards out when quarterback Chase Patzner kept the ball and ran wide right, taking a defender with him over the goal for the first score of the game. The Raiders went for two points after, but were denied, making it 6-0 Arcadia.
The ensuing kickoff to Whitehall was bobbled and knocked loose, with Arcadia recovering. The Raiders went to work and four plays later it was running back Nolan Niemierowitz taking it up the middle and pushing through for a touchdown.
The Whitehall Norse were down 20-0 when they found a spark. Jon Schwartz took a deep kickoff and was able to find some blocks before turning up field and finding an extra gear. By the time he’s at the 50 yard line, he’s off to the races and in for a score. Whitehall on the board and it’s 20-6. Unfortunately, other scoring opportunities were marred including a first and goal opportunity that was fumbled in the first quarter.
By halftime, the Raiders were up 42-6 and by the time it was over, the final score was 54-12.
