Holmen boys soccer holds strong at home against Sparta

HOLMEN, Wis. (WXOW) – Holmen battled conference opponent, Sparta on Tuesday.

Matt Espelien got loose and squeaked it past the diving keeper to put Holmen on the board first.

Espelien did it again, later in the first half, Espelien with a shimmy past the defender and finds the back of the net up high to double the lead to two.

A nice 50/50 ball was won by Sparta that ended with Ivan Hurtado as he split two defenders to score, but it wouldn’t be enough as Holmen won at home, 2-1.
