LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) – Oktoberfest goers can participate in two days of Lederhosen games on Friday, September 27 and Saturday, September 28 at the Southside Festgrounds.
Lederhosen games include rolling a barrel around a cone, racing with a stein and spilling as little as possible and unwrapping German chocolate while wearing oven mittens.
The games are run by a UW-La Crosse event planning class, who collectively decided to add one more day to the event. It used to happen only on the Friday of Oktoberfest.
“We don’t make money,” student organizer Kari Draheim said. “It’s a learning experience for us. I really enjoy event planning so this is right up my alley.”
Lederhosen games run from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. both days.
