WisCorps celebrates ten years of service

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) – WisCorps celebrated ten years of service at a cookout for members and alumni.

The non-profit organization serves over 100 adults through community conservation service and environmental education for 8,000 students.

WisCorps Executive Director Matthew Brantner said he’s looking forward to ten more years of work in the community.

“We want to be able to do more environmental education programs,” Brantner said. “We want to expand our crew program so that every youth that wants to go out and have this experience has that opportunity. They can go out and take a shovel and they can do something positive for Wisconsin’s natural resources. We want everybody to have that opportunity because we think it’s a powerful opportunity for young adults.”

Brantner also said they plan on making the fall gathering an annual event at Myrick Park.
