LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) Monday was an exciting day for Western Technical College. They hosted an official ribbon-cutting ceremony for the newly renovated Student Success Center on their campus.
The newly remodeled center features an open concept allows staff to better interact with students. The building also features the welcome center, student success center, equity, inclusion, and community engagement, learning commons, counseling, access services, and career services.
Western Technical College President Roger Stanford says this new center allows for students to feel right at home when they walk in, “Night and day is the truth. Yes, how you go through. It was very chunky, blocky before, compartmentalized,” said Stanford. “Now it has a really good flow to the entire building, and a student can find their way. The most important pathway to get you to graduate is that you can find your way, mentally, physically, and then you have to know the path to get you help, and that’s what this facility is all about. Student success center.”
Lieutenant Governor Mandella Barnes was also on hand for the ceremony, helping cut the ribbon and also touring the facility with Western Tech officials.
