La Crosse Police looking for suspect in shots fired incident

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) – Police are tracking down the person who fired off a gun over the weekend in a southside neighborhood.

La Crosse Police said they received several reports from people who heard several gunshots in the area near 10th and State streets Sunday night around 8:30 p.m.

Before the shots happened, they heard some kind of argument.

Officers found shell casings at the scene.

Sgt. Tom Walsh said investigators have narrowed down a list of potential suspects, but no arrests have been made yet.

Also on Sunday evening, a woman told police she saw a man pointing a gun at people outside a bar on Mississippi Street. Another person said a man pointed a gun at him outside a West Avenue bar.

No one was injured in any of the incidents.
