Kittens rescued from garbage can in Lincoln County

MERRILL (WAOW) — The search is on to find foster care for five kittens rescued in Merrill.

They are now being cared for at the Lincoln County Humane Society.

”A man brought the babies to the shelter after he found them in a garbage can– at the end of his driveway,” shelter manager Liz Friedenfels said. “He could not find the mother cat.”

Shelter volunteers put the kittens in a cage with a surrogate mother.

“She recently had kittens and we were hoping she might feed them– but that hasn’t happened,” Friedenfels said.

The kittens are doing well but need to be fed every three to four hours.

“We hope to find someone who can provide that care for them,” Friedenfels said.

The shelter has a fund set up on its Facebook page for the kitties.
