La Crosse, WI (WXOW) – Local athletes and parents can learn a little more about balancing sports success and safety at a free conference on Saturday.
The Mayo Clinic Health System and UW-La Crosse are teaming up for the Sports Safety Symposium. Open to athletes of all ages and sports, it takes place at the Radisson Center from 8 to 12:30 on Saturday, October 12.
Experts will address concerns, like preventing injuries and proper nutrition, while coaches will do what they do best.
“Give some pro tips, if you will, on ways we can minimize [injuries] and let kids have safer practices safer competitions and kind of get some of the joy back into sports,” said Dr. Jake Erickson.
Athletes who attend the symposium wearing their jersey will get free admission to the UWL vs. UW-Stout football game Saturday afternoon. For more information about the Symposium, click here.
