Westby rolls by Viroqua in final game of the season

VIROQUA, Wis. (WXOW) — Westby put together a strong first half to secure a road victory against Viroqua on ‘Senior Night,’ claiming the ‘Golden Lefse.’

The Norsemen fumbled on the first play of the game, but they were able to rebound on the next drive with a 6 yard touchdown pass from QB Dillon Ellefson to TE Devin Nelson.

Westby put together a few key defense stands, forcing the Blackhawks to punt often. The play of the night came on a 46-yard touchdown pass from Davontae Spears to Joe Armbruster. Both players also recorded an interception. Brett Jorgenson’s one-yard run would cap off the night for the Norsemen.

Viroqua would get on the board in the second half, but Westby would hang on for a 21-8 victory. Both teams will not be going to the playoffs. The Blackhawks finished the season with a 1-8 record. The Norsemen finished at 2-7.
