Madison, Wisc. (WXOW)- Wisconsin Redshirt Sophomore Kobe King played a big role in Wisconsin’s 77-61 win over Marquette on Sunday. The La Crosse native scored 10 points and was one of six Wisconsin players that scored in double figures.
Next year, Wisconsin will be adding two more local stars in Jonathan and Jordan Davis. King hasn’t played with the Davis twins since they won the State Championship in 2017. He is excited to reunite with his teammates and friends.
“I’m very excited,” King said. “As everyone knows, those are my brothers. I’ve known them since I was a little kid so it’s great to see them grow and what they’ve grown from since they were freshman since I last played with them, so they’re two great players and even more, they’re great people. I love to be around them, and I’m excited to teach them when they get here, kind of teach them the college ways, and then watch their careers take off.”
During Sunday’s game against Marquette, Wisconsin showed the Davis brothers on the video board congratulating them on signing with the Badgers.
“It was a great experience for me and my brother because the whole stadium saw us on the big screen and saw that we were going to be coming there next year and we got a lot of applause,” Johnny Davis said. “So you know it was just really great, and they were really welcoming.”
Monday marked the first day of the high school boy’s basketball season. Johnny and Jordan embark on their final year as Red Raiders.
