Two-vehicle crash leaves Wabasha woman with life-threatening injuries

NEAR PLAINVIEW, Minn. (KTTC) — A woman from Wabasha suffered life-threatening injuries after a two-vehicle crash.

It happened on Highway 42 North of Plainview in Wabasha County before 10 a.m. on Tuesday.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the driver of a Chevy Malibu was northbound on Highway 42 and the driver of a Toyota Sienna was southbound when they collided.

The patrol said the passenger in the Sienna, Karen Thrift, 62, of Wabasha was taken to Mayo Clinic Saint Marys with life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the Sienna had minor injuries but was not transported, according to the State Patrol.

The driver of the Malibu, a 63-year-old woman from Nora Springs, Iowa, was taken to Saint Marys with minor injuries.
