La Crosse, WI (WXOW) It was 30 years ago that La Crosse residents learned a bit more about Russia.
That cultural exchange happened through music. And one result was a sister city relationship between La Crosse and Dubna.
Three musicians called the Dubna Trio performed at that moment helped change two cities.
Busya Lugovier played that night and for her, the impact is lasting. For example, she now has two homes. Dubna, of course, and La Crosse where she is a resident.
Two of the musicians with whom she performed that November night in 1989 have passed. But Busya has formed a new trio, called the Druzhba Trio. Druzhba means, appropriately, friendship.
You can celebrate 30 years of friendship Saturday, November 23, 2019, at the Annette Recital Hall in the UW-La Crosse Fine Arts Center at 16th and Vine Streets. Busya and the trio will perform at 7:00 PM. The concert is free and open to the public..
