Congressman Ron Kind gives his thoughts on the impeachment hearing
LA CROSSE. (WXOW) – Congressman Ron Kind will likely be called upon to vote on the impeachment of President Trump in the next few weeks.
During a visit to La Crosse to talk about healthcare, we asked him to assess the case made by the House Intelligence Committee over the past two weeks.
Kind didn’t say which way he will vote, but said the charges get at the heart of our democracy.
“It sets a very dangerous precedent for our democracy. If you have people in power, leveraging that power for their own political self interest as opposed to our nations interest, and that’s what we’re trying to get to the bottom of. Is what is true, what is accurate in these allegations and we’re trying to do it as quickly as possible,” said Congressman Kind.
