Waukesha student shot at school could face felonies, police say

WAUKESHA (WKOW) -- Authorities said a student shot by police after allegedly pointing a pellet gun at an officer in Waukesha South High School Monday cold face multiple felonies.

Waukesha police said at a press conference Tuesday that the student, whom officers have not yet named, would likely be charged as an adult.

Previously authorities only said the student pointed a gun. Today they clarified it was a pellet gun.

Officers also confirmed the shooting at Waukesha south was not related to a report that a student had a gun at Waukesha North High School later in the day. Both incidents prompted lockdowns.

Police served a search warrant at the student's home and allegedly found more pellet guns and narcotics in his bedroom.

The student is still being treated for his injuries, police said. But once he is well enough, he will be charged.
