Wisconsin corn harvest is second slowest on record

WISCONSIN (WQOW) - More tough news for farmers as the state's corn harvest is the second slowest on record and experts say mother nature is to blame.

The USDA says between this year's extreme weather, including heavy snow, rain and frigid temperatures, farmers simply had very few days that were suitable for work in the fields.

The report found the corn harvest is delayed 22 days compared to last year while soybeans are around 19 days behind.

It is the worst year for corn harvest since 2009.
