You've likely heard the call around the region, now the Salvation Army will join forces with the Riverfest Commodores and First Mates for a bell-ringing match day event. An anonymous donor will match up to $10,000 made at Red Kettles at the Valley View Mall on Monday.
Building on a successful match day in 2018, the Riverfest representatives will staff the mall's three kettle locations all day on Monday, Dec. 16. First Mate Linda Lyche said it's easy to drum up support for the day among the Riverfest group.
Alex Riley, with the Salvation Army, said the match day events go a long way toward the Red Kettle Campaign's annual goal.
The bell ringing itself ends on December 24, and you can still sign up to help out. Go to RegisterToRing.com or call the La Crosse Salvation Army at 608-782-6126.
