LA CROSSE, WI. (WXOW) - There's a club at Bangor High School that puts an emphasis on giving. On Thursday, they took that initiative outside the classroom.
The club is called Bangor B-Club. It's made up of student-athletes who raised money to donate toys and gifts to children at Gundersen Health System and Mayo Clinic Health System.
They raised $1,100 thanks to a big chili dinner hosted at a basketball game. The students understand how fortunate they are and are happy to give back.
"I think it might bring smiles to their faces and it feels good to be a part of something that can do that for them and I know I'd appreciate it if I were in their shoes," said Bangor student, Karsen Kershner.
