La Crosse, WI (WXOW) - The City of La Crosse wants to help us stay active during the winter months.
The City announced the opening of a new walking and biking trail. It called the Wintertide Loop.
It connects the Jim Asfoor Trail with the Vietnam Veterans Trail to create a 2.7 mile path. It begins and ends at Riverside Park.
It offers scenic views of the La Crosse River and Riverside Park Friendship Gardens.
The City parks department will maintain the trail, but asks for patience if we get a winter storm.
"Keep in mind that if there's a major snow event, the removal of snow from the path might get delayed, if there's a full removal operation that needs to take place in the city." Says Abby Heilman with the Parks and Rec Department.
The Loop takes walkers from Riverside Park to Monitor street, onto Lang Drive before heading South and finishing at the Friendship Gardens.
