La Crosse, Wis. - (WXOW) - The new year is days away, often a time when many people decide to make resolutions. According to Gundersen Tri-State Ambulance, it's also an opportunity to think of safety when making that resolution.
"Something you can do is think of a way to make safe decisions," said paramedic Cody Kunkel. "One of the easiest things that you can do is purchase and wear a helmet."
Kunkel says that something as simple as a helmet can make a big difference.
"It's important you protect yourself in case of an accident," he said.
Kunkel says another good resolution might be learning some life saving skills, such as CPR. Local classes or online options are usually available year round. You can find out where through the American Heart Association by calling 800-242-8721.
