La Crosse, Wis. - (WXOW) The magic and grace of figure skating comes to La Crosse this Friday night.

This year's figure skating exhibition is set to transform Green Island Ice Arena into a Winter Wonderland . The evening program features local area skaters of all ages as well as various levels of expertise.

According to program coordinator Corene Marco, it's been a work in progress.

"It takes a lot of hard work, a lot of practice, a lot of hours," Marco said. "The skaters will put in 10 to 12 hours a week of just pure ice skating. That and a lot of bruises, a lot of falls, some tears, and some laughter."

Marco also says the hard work ultimately becomes their chance to showcase all of what they've learned.

This year's Winter Wonderland program is one night only, Friday at 7 p.m. Tickets are available at the door, three dollars admission, two dollars for seniors and children. Kids six and under get in for free.
