BRF man picked up on 8th OWI charge

BLACK RIVER FALLS, Wis. (WXOW) - A Black River Falls man is arrested for his 8th OWI charge.

The Jackson County Sheriff's Office said a deputy saw a vehicle commit a traffic violation Friday evening at 6:42 p.m.on East 2nd Street near Gebhardt Road in the Town of Brockway.

When the deputy was talking to the man, identified as 57-year-old Bernard M. Mueller, he noticed the odor of intoxicants and saw that his eyes were red and glassy.

Mueller told the deputy he had four beers at a bar plus two at home before driving.

After failing field sobriety tests, Mueller was arrested and taken to the Jackson County Jail.

A records check showed seven previous OWI convictions for Mueller.

He's awaiting formal charges in Jackson County Circuit Court.
